“I love smiles and I am going to school to become a dentist.”

SAY San Diego Crawford Community Connection:

SAY San Diego is a nonprofit offering multiservice solutions for youth, adults, families, and communities. Crawford Community Connection is a program of SAY San Diego based at Crawford High School. Currently, the majority of students assisted by this SAY San Diego program are new arrivals to the US, coming from Africa, the Middle East, or Southeast Asia. The Welcome Home Grant will offer financial assistance to the refugee students and families who utilize the resource center at Crawford Community Connection. This financial assistance will remove barriers to otherwise attainable education or employment goals.

Together we will help positively impact those who have overcome significant barriers to pursue academic and employment goals.

Our welcome home fund will provide assistance with:

  • Education/Career (college, vocational, other): scholarship or application fees, exam prep course fees, tuition assistance, books/supplies, license fees needed for employment, training for promotion opportunities, and career clothing or uniform costs required for work or interviews.

  • Transportation critical for education or work: bus pass assistance, gas cards, unexpected vehicle repairs/maintenance.
